West Kokannee Face

Went exploring in the back country north of  Nelson, BC in the Kootenays to see if I could get up to get a good look at the glacier in the Kokanee Provincial Park.  The FSR (Forest Service Road) had a different idea.  Could only drive as far as a wilderness roadblock – deadfall trees fallen on road and snow avalanche blocking road.  Hmmm,  nature can be stubborn when sharing its beauty.

So, packed up my hiking gear and photo equipment and set out on foot to the base of the glacier.  Still cold up here in June… Brrr.  Again, the fog rolled in and limited visibility ended the adventure too early.
