Some days when we have been pounding on the computer keyboard working long hours on our travel websites we sometimes decide to take a break and stretch our legs, explore and see what we can find. Today we set out on foot down an unmarked trail from our base camp in Creston.
The trail lead us below the highway, through some forest, pass some abandoned car wrecks and then down a deep embankment to the shores of the Goat River. The river was high and roaring hard. Could hardly hear us think.
Along the rivers edge were big flat slabs of rock jetting out into the river. It was an ideal place for suntanning. In some areas of the rock slabs were little open sections with small pools.. natures hot tub in the summer months.
Exploring with unknowns can sometimes provide some of the best scenery and wilderness surprises. Today was such a day. Here is a picture of Bro out on one of the slabs of rock with the Goat River behind him.
Cheers EH!
