Black Bear Sighting on Alaska Hwy

Long day yesterday. Traveled from Dawson Creek to Fort  Nelson on the Alaska Hwy and did not pull into a campsite til very late.  What a greeting we received too.  Not a soul in sight at the Andy Bailey Regional Campground in Fort Nelson.

Instead we were greeted by some very big and hungry mosquitoes.  We were forced to take cover and fend for our lives.  I can still hear them outside buzzing away this morning.  They are circling the camp getting ready to attack.

Yesterday was a sunny hot day. We stopped allot along the way to take in some sights and some of the historic spots on the highway. One of which I have seen before but wanted Bro to see it was the Old Curved Bridge at Mile “21″ on the Old Alaska Hwy. It is so cool and it is has some great views.

The bonus of the day were the 50 minutes we enjoyed in the company of a Black Bear. Driving along the highway I spotted a bear on a ridge. As we pulled over we got the equipment out and went to work. What a beautiful looking creature.

Here is a photo of our new friend.

I hear Bro fighting the bugs outside. It sounds like he is losing. Must be time to hook up and be on our way.  Sounds like sooner than later too.

Talk soon EH!
